The Peterborough and District League’s charity this year is Riding for the Disabled, chosen by the current President, Angela Turner.

Angela, along with representatives from her club, Bretton and District BC, visited the local group in May 2023 to see for themselves the activities taking place. It was heart-warming to see the happiness of the children that day, and the dedication of the volunteers providing appropriate support. The donation from the League, together with a further donation from Bretton and District BC, will be used to bring some of the essential equipment up to the current safety regulations. On the day of the visit the children taking part were from Heltwate School, Peterborough.

Riding for the Disabled promotes the well-being of people with varying needs. Tailored support encourages individuals to gain confidence and enjoyment, and to discover the transformation to their lives that participation in sport can bring. Groups are run entirely by volunteers who rely on fundraising to finance their activities.
